The Beginner's Guide to Lymphatic Drainage at HomesI know you're hearing about Lymph Drainage everywhere right now. Everyone from Hailey Bieber to Jennifer Aniston are talking about the amazing benefits.
Although it is trending, it’s not something that will fade like skinny jeans. Lymphatic drainage massage is highly effective in so many ways, you will wonder why you haven’t tried it yet.
Let talk about many of the benefits first:
-
Post Surgery Recovery: After surgeries like cosmetic or cancer related procedures, it’s helpful to encourage Lymph Drainage to decrease inflammation, prevent scar tissue, and reduce bruising.
-
Immune System Boosting: Our Lymphatic System transports lymphocytes (white blood cells) to affected areas. Lymphatic movement aids your body’s ability to fight infections and viruses.
-
Reduces Swelling (Lymphedema): Moving Lymph in stagnant areas of your body will help excess fluid buildup to exit your body, and help you to look and feel your best.
-
Postpartum Wellness: After birth, our bodies hold onto a lot of fluid from the trauma. Not only do we experience pain, swelling, and discomfort, but the healing process can be lengthy. Lymphatic Drainage helps our bodies to recover, reduces pain, and aids in hormonal and breast health.
-
Increases Skin Health: By reducing puffy skin and clearing out toxins, it promotes a more glowy healthy appearance.
-
It’s Incredibly Relaxing: Gently pressure and movement is all that is needed to encourage your Lymph Nodes and System to flow more efficiently. It’s not aggressive or deep, and gives our nervous system a little nudge to calm down.
If these benefits sound like something that might help you, Lymphatic Drainage is your new best friend! It’s not hard to learn how to do much of it at home with your hands, gua sha stone, or simple movements, you’re on your way to a healthier you!
Now Let’s Talk About What You Need:

A few minutes
Okay, Here Are Some Simple Steps:
Step 1: Deep Breathing
Deep breathing activates your diaphragm, which naturally stimulates lymph flow. Do this 5 to 10 times.
Step 2: Dispense A Dropper of Calm Current Into Your Hands
Smooth the oil over your face, neck and decolletage. Continue to breathe deeply and enjoy the soothing, clearing scents of Grapefruit, Lemon, and Cypress Essential Oils. The Castor Oil is highly effective at encouraging Lymphatic Drainage, and is very good for your skin. After you’re through, you are welcome to wash off in the shower, or leave it on as a nourishing and healing body oil.
Step 3: Stimulate the Neck & Collarbones
Major lymph nodes are clustered around your collarbones and the sides of your neck. Place your flat hands or the pads of your fingers just above your collarbone. You can also use your gua sha stone if you have one. Gently stretch the skin downward and inward toward your chest, then release. Repeat 10 to 15 times. Move your fingers to either side of your neck, just under your ears. Gently stretch the skin down and away from your face. Repeat 10 to 15 times.
Step 4: Clear the Armpits
Place more Calm Current Oil into your hands and rub into your armpits. The armpits act as another major collection point for upper-body lymph fluid. Cross your arms so your fingertips reach your armpits. Gently massage the underarms with a soft, circular, or upward-and-inward motion. Repeat this stroking motion 10 to 15 times.
Step 5: Start On Your Face
Now that you have cleared the Lymph Pathways, it will be simple to drain the nodes in your face. Wash your hands, and with your hands or gua sha stone, start at the center of your chin. Sweep your fingers outward and slightly upward along your jawline to just behind your earlobes, then sweep down the neck. Now place your fingers alongside your nose. Sweep outwards over your cheekbones toward your temples or ears, then follow the path of your neck down to the collarbone. Next, using your ring fingers (as they exert the least amount of pressure), very gently sweep from the inner corners of your eyes outward to your temples, then trace down the neck. Then start at the center of your forehead by moving outwards toward your temples, then bring the excess fluid down the sides of your face and neck. Finish exactly where you started by moving back to your collarbones to help your body process the drained fluid.
Step 6: Drain the Arms and Legs
If you want to move fluid from your limbs, always sweep or brush in an upward direction, starting at the furthest point (hands/feet) and moving toward the torso (armpits/groin). Before beginning, apply Calm Current Lymph Oil, so that your hands and tools glide smoothly over your skin. End with rebounding, shaking, standing on lymphatic plate, or a brisk walk to promote lymph flow.
Now, you may not end up with Hailey Bieber’s face when you’re done, but you’ll feel amazing, look amazing, and are well on your way to becoming the Lymph Queen!
